Why Blue Papillon?

At Blue Papillon, we consider learning as an extension of play. Our aim is to train young minds to view learning as a fun thing, rather than as a chore that is stressful and compulsory. To that end, our curriculum, our facilities, and indeed our entire system are all focused on the child’s wellbeing, safety, and happiness. Our teachers, besides their knowledge and experience, are marked by their dedication, calm demeanour, and their skill of patience, which they practice every day.

Our curriculum is designed to prepare children for all boards and structured to take full advantage of the multiple benefits provided by our thoughtfully planned infrastructure. Activities include multi-sensory experiences with an audio-visual room and a ball room. Social skills are encouraged with group play and the Montessori room is stocked with toys that inspire creative thinking as well as orient kids to objects found in real life.

At Blue Papillon, we lay huge emphasis on extracurricular activities. Physical fitness is taken seriously. Children are encouraged to use our indoor kid-sized gym when the weather is not conducive for outdoor activities. Last but not the least; we hold regular celebrations to imbibe Indian culture and values, while also introducing them to ideas and concepts of celebrations from across cultures.

Our aim is for every student of Blue Papillon to walk out proud and confident, and setting himself/herself apart from others in every way.

From Founder's Desk

A few decades ago, a large portion of the early learning years of a child’s life was spent at home. They carried the influence of those crucial years for the rest of their lives. Contemporary research shows that in their early years, children benefit by spending time in a structured environment designed to prepare them for school. It means that the responsibility of forming those early years is now shared between the parents and the educators. This is a responsibility which I take very seriously.

After visiting many facilities which offer excellent education, I felt that there was need for a school that offered more. I believe that an educational centre responsible for a child’s very foundation should put the child’s total welfare at the centre of it. It should take into consideration not just their intellectual, emotional, and physical development, but should also inculcate the right values and a positive attitude towards life.

Blue Papillon School Vesu Surat

Children learn more than just alphabet and rhymes at this stage in life. Their understanding of the world and how they relate to people forms at this age. Since they learn by observing, they need to be given a world which is compassionate and understanding, caring and supportive, not just to children, but to everyone. The only way to give them such a world is by building it from scratch, based on principles that put these human attributes first. I believe that the first brick of such a world is laid in early education. While we follow a curriculum based on the best pedagogical models, at Blue Papillon, we also follow our own internal high standards in the behaviour, attitude and care that we extend to the children and to each other.

Education is not just about learning languages and solving math problems. Education is about making the right choices, being in touch with your own thoughts and feelings, and solving life’s problems with grace, fairness, and equanimity. It is, in essence, about equipping the next generation for a better life.

Development

The foundation to future is laid today. Whatever your grand plans for your child’s career or higher education might be, the first steps to those heights are taken much earlier than we expect. A child’s future learning and ability to cope with life situations depends on their early childhood development in these four major areas:

  1. Emotional
  2. Intellectual
  3. Physical
  4. Social

Education

In their early years, children spend a lot of time at home. The importance of parents’ participation in this important area of a child’s life is inexpressible. However, the form of participation that is actually effective is very different from what we believe it to be. It doesn’t involve sitting down with the child every day for hours going over their homework, but has more to do with creating an environment where learning is encouraged and associated with fun.

For early childhood development, the importance of ‘play’ cannot be stressed enough. Children pick up a range of skills and concepts through playing alone. This learning can continue being a lifelong process for the children if we teach them what is known as the growth mindset. Research shows that intelligence as an attribute can increase at any age, provided the individuals are taught to believe that their skills and abilities are not finite. This can be accomplished by stressing the importance of hard work and effort over results in early childhood. Developing a growth mindset enables children to view learning positively throughout their life.

Safety

Our school places maximum emphasis on safety and security of children. The entire facility including offices and staff rooms have child-friendly design and furniture. All materials used are safe and non-toxic. Our experienced staff is trained in first aid and safety protocols and we hire thoroughly vetted and responsible vendors. Here are some tips on how you can help us keep your children safe:

  1. Make sure they are wearing their school ID every day when they leave home.
  2. Teach the child your phone numbers and home address.
  3. If the child is using a transport service, familiarize yourself with the bus staff. Don’t hesitate to question and confirm by calling your original driver if you see unfamiliar people in charge of a familiar vehicle.
  4. Ensure that the child’s pick up and drop to and from school is carried out only by one or two people in the family.
  5. In case of allergies or medical conditions, make sure the transport staff, school management, as well as the child’s class teacher are aware of what to do in case of emergencies.
  6. Talk to children regularly about ‘good touch’ and ‘bad touch.’ Talk to them often about not talking to strangers in absence of parents or teachers.

Happiness

Our child’s happiness is the ultimate goal and at the heart of every action we take. A mature-decision making process involves planning for both long term and short term happiness. Children only understand short term happiness like eating ice cream or going to the park with daddy. As parents, we understand that to secure their long term happiness, they will need to learn the right habits, skills and attitude, get a good education, and have an all rounded personality. One of the most important milestones in that journey is starting preschool.
